Not convenient for every room. These bulbs are meant only for areas with movement.
Not for places like bedroom, living room, etc. The bulb will keep switching OFF without motion, annoying users in a big way.
For small rooms, the RADAR based motion sensor might switch ON the bulb from movements beyond the walls. So, things place of installation and type of motion sensor bulb should be consulted from manufacturer before purchasing, if in doubt. There are two technologies of motion sensor bulb.
1. PIR Motion Sensor Bulb (For Small Range)
2. Radar Motion Sensor Bulb (For Large Range)
Both technologies have their plus and minus.
PIR Motion Sensor is ideal for small areas. It does not detect beyond walls which is a great advantage.
Radar sensor are quite sensitive but detect movements beyond thin walls, glass, etc. Sometimes is trigger the bulb ON even when someone is passing by near it.
So, in conclusion Motion Sensor bulbs can be useful product if used for areas with movements.
